RAMUS™ Legal — Terms of Use & Disclaimer

Please read carefully before proceeding. You must accept these terms to use the platform.

1. Nature of This Service

RAMUS™ Legal is an artificial intelligence-assisted matter assessment and decision intelligence platform developed and operated by TCC Projects CC t/a Groenewald Consulting ("RAMUS"). The platform generates analytical output based on information provided by the user and is intended solely to assist qualified legal practitioners in their professional work.

The output generated by this platform does not constitute legal advice, a legal opinion, or any form of professional legal service as contemplated under the Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014 or any other applicable South African legislation. No attorney-client relationship is created between RAMUS and any user or end client by reason of accessing or using this platform.

2. User Responsibility and Verification

By accessing this platform, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • All output generated by RAMUS™ Legal must be independently verified by a suitably qualified legal practitioner before it is relied upon, acted on, communicated to any client, or used in any legal proceeding or transaction.
  • You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy, completeness, currency, and legal correctness of all information, analysis, references, citations, and recommendations produced by the platform.
  • You will ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, court rules, and professional conduct obligations before acting on any output of this platform.
  • You will not present any output of this platform as your own independent professional work without applying your own professional judgment and verification.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, including but not limited to the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECT Act") and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA"), RAMUS, its members, employees, agents, and service providers shall not be liable for:

  • Any loss, damage, claim, or expense of any nature arising from reliance on or use of any output generated by this platform;
  • Any direct, indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of profits, loss of data, or reputational harm;
  • Any errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or outdated information contained in AI-generated output;
  • Any failure of the platform to meet your specific requirements or produce a particular result;
  • Any third-party claims arising from your use of this platform or its output.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, RAMUS's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the subscription or access fee paid by your firm for the current billing period.

4. Confidentiality and Data

This platform does not store, log, or retain any matter-specific information, client data, or documents submitted by users. All processing occurs in real time and no records of your inputs are retained on RAMUS servers after your session ends. Notwithstanding this, you remain solely responsible for ensuring that any information submitted to this platform complies with your confidentiality obligations, your firm's data governance policies, and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). Do not submit information that would identify a client or third party where such submission would violate applicable law or your professional duties.

5. Intellectual Property

All platform technology, branding, underlying systems, and methodologies are the intellectual property of TCC Projects CC t/a Groenewald Consulting and are protected by applicable South African and international intellectual property law. Access codes are provided for firm-specific use only and may not be shared, transferred, or sold to any third party.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the use of this platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South Gauteng High Court or such other court of competent jurisdiction as RAMUS may elect.

7. Amendments

RAMUS reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after any amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
